Anyone interested in planning and building a nether highway along with me?

I'm thinking about building a nether highway that extends 2000 blocks on each axis (As most people live within 15k from 0,0) out of obsidian and ice.

There are several logisitical issues, the biggest being sourcing obsidian blocks. It will be a very ambitious project but will make exploration of far away lands much easier. And also if we assume that if the 1.17 update was to come to the server, no one would want the overworld to reset and it will probably be loaded on the newer chunks (speculation). At that time we would want to explore far away places too, so let's start building the infrastructure.

No need for obsidian I think. We just need a straight path that also bridges lava oceans. Maybe out of stone so it won't get damaged by Ghasts. The server is peaceful and the people are nice. There wouldn't be much point in griefing a nether highway. Even if they do, it would be minor and something any player can fix as they encounter it (like clearing debris, lava flows, etc.)

I would be g to help out with this

if this is in classic. the option for a nether highway wouldn't be a huge deal. saddles on striders is not expensive.

As a Keeper of the End I greatly approve of this. This would mean that there can be more player interactions since bases, towns and cities can be connected which would honestly make the server much much better.

Yes this is true. Might I suggest redstone bridge builder which is a good time to mention someone. Master @FlippyDoop! Your opinion would be great here if this plan would utilize a redstone contraption.

This may be the case lord D1v1ne but this can greatly enhance everyone's gameplay as they can access more locations.

I don't think a redstone bridge builder will work. That would require a flying machine which isn't allowed on the server. It wouldn't even work if you tried because pistons only activate within claimed areas. Would be easier and faster to do it manually in this server

right I forgot pistons only work in claimed areas and that flying machines are prohibited as they harm the tps D;

you still will struggle with the mountains and other stuff, especially getting the striders over it or around it is more painful than getting out of it yourself, some lazy peeps will like this, plus, this project is probably made for the sake of time consuming

and they're limited to 10 per chunk, this will make it slightly harder, but there is some efficient ways of obtaining generatable blocks, like stone and cobblestone, I've got a design for a stone generator in my base for the stone generator, plus its quite efficient, and there is one way to afk farm with it, and that's holding left click and then pressing F3+T to reload chunks, that will cause the left click button to be hold for the game, as long as you don't click at all, it will work perfectly.
