Hey Blockstackers!
I'm writing this guide on how to create SignShops, and presenting all the information you need about them in the Classic Server.
So, the question some of you might have is, why SignShops?
We have chosen to migrate from the AuctionHouse to SignShops in favour of engaging our community and to introduce a marketplace-like environment in the server.
How do I get started?
The concept is simple. A player rents a shop plot that's available at /warp PlayerShops.
A shop that's available for rent has a sign outside of it that looks like this -

G1 is your plot number.
The rent is calculated on a daily basis.
Once you find a plot that's available for rent, right click on the sign. You'll see this in chat when you successfully rent a shop plot.

Upon right clicking the sign again, you can increase the rental by one day.
For example, I right click on the sign twice, and my rent duration is extended from 8 November 2020 to 10 November 2020.
Left clicking the sign shows a handy information panel about your shop too.
Cheers! The plot is all yours to decorate and showcase your style!
Additional commands to take note of :
/as me - displays information about your shop and number of days it'll expire in.
/as settp - sets a location to warp to within your shop.
/as unrent <shopname> - unrents your shop. The <shopname> parameter can be skipped if you're standing in your shop when executing this command (be very careful when using it as all items in the shop will be lost).
/as tp <shopname> - teleports you to the location set using /as settp.
example : /as tp ShopG1
/as addfriend <playername> - grants permissions to your friends in your shop.
/as delfriend <playername> - revokes permissions from your friends that you've trusted.
Note: Once the rental expires, all the items in your shop will be lost. Players should be careful and take down their items / extend the duration they rent a plot for.
How many types of SignShops are there?
There are two types of signshops you can make - a [Buy] shop or a [Sell] shop.
A [Buy] shop is the default type, where you stock up goodies and your customers buy them with in-game money (/bal).
For example, I'm selling 1 lantern for $10.
A [Sell] shop is the opposite type, where your customers give you items in exchange for in-game money.
For example, I'm buying 1 lantern for $10.
How do I create my SignShop?
It's simple.
Step 1 :
Place down a chest, and stock it up with goodies for sale.
For example, if you want to sell 1 Lantern for $10 then you've to put 1 Lantern in the chest, then link it to the sign.
Step 2 :
Place a sign that you will be linking the chest to. It doesn't have to be neccessarily close to the chest so that's a bonus to your creative genius!
Step 3 :
On a sign, there are four lines.
The format one has to follow to set up their shop is -
Line 1: [Buy] or [Sell] (Depending on the type of shop you'd like to create).
Line 2, 3: Describe your item. For example 1x Lantern.
Line 4: Enter the price of the item. For example, $10.
To link your chest and the sign, take a redstone dust and left click on the chest once, then left click on the sign.
Here is an image of a [Buy] shop for your reference -

The dark blue colour on the [Buy] indicates that the shop is in stock, as shown in the above image.
Once the shop goes out of stock, the [Buy] turns red, as shown in the image down below.

Note: When players earn money, there will be a small percentage deducted from their earnings as income tax.
So, that's basically all you need to know about our new SignShop!
Thank you for reading till the end, and Happy Shopping!
